Hi, I’m Mariane, but you may call me Mari (only my mom calls me Mariane and it’s never good).

I live in Nijmejen, The Netherlands since October 2022, where I’ve been a Ph.D student in the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences at Radboud University. I`m working under the supervision of Prof, Dr. Mairielli Wessel.

I am working with bots, that are software agents that can automate some human tasks. My focus is on bots that interact with software development teams. What we know until now it’s the way bots respond the users it’s not good, we have challenges in the communication between bots-human. So, I’ve investigating how individual characteristics might affect this communication and how we can propose guidelines to improve it based on characteristics of each person that interact with the bots. Can the bot be intelligent enough to analyze user characteristics and interact with this human based on these personal characteristics? Can it improve the communication challenge?

In December 2018, I earned my master’s degree from the University of Maringá (UEM), in Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ademir Constantino. On my master’s degree I work with parallel metaheuristics to solve bus driver scheduling problem. I really enjoy this subject too!

After my master, I worked for four years as software engineer and data analytics in several companies in Brazil.
